Hi everyone! Doone here - your host and hype girl. Thank you for tuning into my mini solo episode this week.
Whether you’ve been listening to the show for a while, or if you’ve been listening to the show just recently, you’ll know for a fact that I’m all. About. Tiktok. I feel like we’re in this magic time right now, similar to where we saw Instagram popping off circa 2015/2016, where we can still very much catch this wave on the way up. And for that reason, I just can’t stop telling everyone and anyone that I meet to grab this chance and just give this a really good go.
I’ve personally been putting so much effort into my channel and the results are just mindblowing. The more you put in - the more you get. And I’m not the most native person to the platform by any means. Firstly I’m 33. And I can’t dance for shit. The idea of filming myself and public speaking combined into one activity is probably the thing my nightmares are made of - which I know I know, I have a podcast so it should be easy - but still! It was a challenge I had to force myself to get used to and upskill in. but I’m absolutely certain that by investing so much time and energy into this thing now is going to pay off in a really big way and I’m also having a lot of fun with it - which is obviously KEY.
And all of this, because of the guests that come on the show and share their wisdom with us. I have them to thank - literally. So today I’ll talk you through seven of the stories I’ve heard over the last year that have absolutely convinced me that getting onto TikTok is THE thing to drive both your personal and business brand moving forward from today. Yes today. You should create your account immediately if you haven’t done so already.
Let’s get straight to it! This is me, for Female Startup Club.
I owe so much of my TikTok inspiration to the incredible guests I’ve had on the show. Today, I’m sharing seven stories from female founders who have used TikTok to drive both their personal brands and their businesses to incredible success. These ladies are the reason I believe TikTok can change the game for all of us—so let’s get into it!
1. Fiona Chan – Euphoria
Let me tell you about Fiona Chan, founder of Gen Z beauty brand Euphoria. TikTok obsessed is an understatement. She has over two million likes and nearly 100,000 followers—crazy, right? But here’s the kicker: her entire business model was built around TikTok from day one. Fiona knew she needed a TikTok-friendly product and made it happen. She even moved from Shanghai to the U.S. just to be closer to the TikTok scene. Talk about dedication!
Fiona’s key to success? Consistency. She blocks out hours every day to create content, hitting that golden morning light for the best vibe. Her advice: pick a content style you can do daily and run with it. The more authentic, the better. It’s not about perfection—it’s about showing up.
2. Helen Yin – Inoki Bathhouse
Next up is Helen Yin from Inoki Bathhouse. She’s all about testing her ideas before going all in. Helen created a simple landing page and waitlist, then started making TikTok videos to gauge interest. Before she even launched, she had 2,000 people on her waitlist. By the time she was ready to sell, the list had grown to 4,000—and she sold out in 30 seconds! Yes, you read that right.
Her tip? Be intentional. TikTok isn’t just a numbers game. You’ve got to evoke emotion and connect with your audience. The more real you are, the more people will respond.
3. Lisa Guerrera – Experiment
Lisa Guerrera, founder of Experiment (you know, the neon green masks you’ve seen everywhere), jumped into TikTok before launching her brand. But for her, it wasn’t about pushing the product—it was about sharing her skincare journey and connecting with others. Building relationships with TikTok creators was her secret sauce, and it worked. Lisa’s advice? Create content that works for you. Whether it’s sharing behind-the-scenes moments or hopping on trends, just be yourself.
4. Linda Trunk – Love & Pebble
Linda Trunk is another TikTok superstar who found viral success with her brand, Love & Pebble. What started as a way to give away samples quickly turned into a $100,000 sales milestone. Her videos blew up, and she realized the massive potential of the platform. Linda’s advice is simple: stop overthinking and just start creating. TikTok rewards authenticity, so let your story shine.
5. Sarah Forrai – Contour Cube
I can’t forget Sarah Forrai from Contour Cube. Her first TikTok video—posted the second her product arrived—got 20,000 views. That set the tone for her entire marketing strategy. Since then, she’s had videos with over six million views and even got a shoutout from Kendall Jenner. Yeah, it’s that big.
Sarah’s tip: video is everything. We’ve moved beyond flat images. People want to see real, dynamic content that keeps them engaged.
6. Nadia Okamoto – August
Let’s talk about Nadia Okamoto, the founder of August. Nadia joined TikTok three years late, but when she did, she went all in, posting 20-50 TikToks a day. Her strategy? Integrating TikTok into every single moment of her life. Now, she has over 3.3 million fans on her personal account and nearly 300,000 on the brand account. Her advice: if something isn’t working, switch it up. Don’t wait for the algorithm—adapt and evolve your content.
7. Sandy Lin – Small Business Tips
Finally, Sandy Lin, founder of Small Business Tips, built her account to 300,000 followers in just six months. Her secret to getting started? Engage with content in your niche, study what works, and start creating loads of content. It’s all about practicing and getting comfortable seeing yourself on camera. The more you do it, the easier it gets.
